As a Technical Developer, you will play a pivotal role ensuring the fit and quality of our product is maintained from design to bulk production, meeting all company wide standards and critical deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Lead fittings, recognizing and correcting moderate fit problems in a live setting. Ensuring fitting protocol is followed, including full range of movement and suggest appropriate solutions to improve the product.
• Assist with onboarding all new vendors.
• Identify potential production issues in fit and quality and make appropriate recommendations while maintaining deadlines and creative intent.
• Partner with design through the development process to create products meeting company’s standards and vision, executing design and fit intent of garment.
• Create, update, and maintain accurate spec packages, measurements
  and grading.        
• Communicate sample and pattern requirements to the factory.
• Measure and inspect samples to ensure requested requirements are
  followed.
• Problem solve and communicate fit, construction, washing and
  fabric issues as they arise.
• Quality check for consistency in sizing, functional trims, and
  construction across product range.
• Coordinate approval of garments and specs for production, ensuring
  deadlines are maintained.
• Identify potential production issues in fit and quality and make appropriate
  recommendations while maintaining deadlines and creative intent.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor of Fine Arts; Fashion Design & Technology.
• Experience in product development, apparel industry standards, garment fit & production appropriate construction techniques.
• Pattern making background is an asset.
• Advanced Illustrator and Excel skills.
• Understanding of development and production processes in all categories - Knit, Woven, Fully Fashioned.     
• Demonstrated ability in effectively communicating with factories and vendors.
• Ability to work & communicate efficiently with internal and external teams in a positive and professional manner.
• Proven work ethic-responsible, dependable, and consistent.
• Strong team player, knowledge of x-functional team accountabilities and requirements.      
• Excellent organizational skills. Ability to optimize processes to meet all deadlines.
• Able to multi- task, working in a fast-past environment and prioritize effectively.

Gentle Fawn is looking for a Female Fit model. This is a part time casual position, and the hours depend on the time of year. Hours must be FLEXIBLE and available during business hours 9:30am-5pm, Tuesday-Friday. Fit sessions usually last from 3-7 hours as needed.

This position requires you to provide feedback on fit, comfort and movement to assist our Designers and Product Developers in developing well-fitting styles that are appropriate for our customers.

Please note there is NO catalogue or print work involved with this position.

Ideal Candidate

• Ability to stand for long periods of time while maintaining good posture
• Must be comfortable with fitting garments in front of a group of people.
• Commenting on fit of garment from a customer’s point of view of comfort
• Available for flexible working hours
